Andrographis – Scientific Name – (andrographis paniculata)

Parts used – usually leaves and aerial parts (flowers)

Main Action – Bitters or digestive

Some therapeutic uses –

· Increase poor appetite

· Increase sluggish digestion

· Ease flatulence

· Ease Diarrhoea

· Ease Gastroenteritis

· Encourage detoxification by the liver

Warnings

Andrographis should not be used during pregnancy, if you have duodenal ulcers or oesophageal reflux (GORD)
