Parts Used: Root

Main Actions: Expectorant (drains mucus from the lungs)

Bronchospasmolytic (prevents narrowing of the bronchials

Anti-bacterial (destroys and/or supresses bacterial growth)

Some therapeutic uses:

Acute bronchitis

Common colds and flu

Asthma

emphysema

Warnings:

Large amounts may cause stomach upset

Caution if pregnant or breastfeeding

Caution with diabetes and high or low blood pressure
